All students whose native language is not English are required to take the TOEFL or IELTS test or have an Intensive English Program (IEP) recommendation. Those students who hold or will earn a degree from an accredited institution in the United States before enrolling may have this requirement waived.
For applicants whose native language is not English, proof of English language proficiency is required.
Please submit one of the following in the Applicant Portal (you will receive access to this once your application is submitted):
- your official test scores for TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo;
- In lieu of test scores, applicants may submit a written recommendation from qualified personnel from EMU's Intenside English Program (IEP);
- Applicants who studied and received a degree from a college or university where all instruction is in English are not required to submit additional documentation.
